You are constantly moving in any special needs, kindergarten, or primary room! We move throughout the room and around the school and schedule frequent breaks and movements into our instructional time. One of our favourite movement breaks is imitating animals! This bundle is great because it appeals to my younger and older students! We also love to incorporate it into our math lessons!
Now that we are back to online learning, my students are not able to participate in our typical movement breaks.
Off-Screen Time > Youtube
We all love the YouTube dances by Koo Koo Kanga Roo, Jack Hartmann, The Kimboomers, Go Noodle and other popular videos, but I wanted something different. I wanted a break from the computer screen, even for just a few minutes. My students love showing off their favourite toys and random items from around their houses! That is why I decided to create scavenger hunts! My students get to move around AND show off an item from their house!
Google Slides Freebie
Four sets of google slides are available for FREE in the resource library! I have been switching between all four decks. You can decide what would work best for your students: colours, 2D shapes, 3D shapes or beginning letter sounds.
Make Connections
The best part about the scavenger hunt google slides is they can be used in so many different parts of your day! Morning circle, literacy, and math are my favourite times to use them! Every 8-10 slides, I insert two or three pages from the scavenger hunt.
I have noticed such a difference in my student’s attention span, engagement, behaviour, and overall mood!
Happy Online Learning!
